FTN / GSM-R Telecoms Programme for Jacobs Engineering and Network Rail

The FTN /GSM-R programme was a seven-year programme to create a privately owned telecommunications network for Network Rail’s operational and business needs. It involves the rollout of 16,000 Kms of optic fibre and copper cable, and the construction of 2500 mobile phone transmission masts across England, Scotland, and Wales. The value of the programme was £1500M.

London 2012 Olympic Games Programme for CLM Joint Venture and London Olympics Overlay Construction Programme for LOCOG (London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games)
The London 2012 programme was a £9.4B development of the London 2012 Olympic Park and legacy conversion after the games, located near Hackney Wick in east London. The security component (worth £300M) was site-wide scope interfacing with all sporting venues and the Olympic site as a whole. The scope included the installation of security entrance plazas, biometric access control systems, CCTV systems, intruder detection systems, perimeter barriers and alarms, and a state-of-the-art Command and Control Centre. Also included are searching and screening and security guarding operations during construction of the Olympic Park.
The London 2012 Olympics Overlay Construction Programme for LOCOG was a programme to build temporary overlay structures at ‘borrowed’ venues used to host the games. This included hallmark venues such as Wembley Stadium, Wembley Arena, Wimbledon Tennis Centre and Lords Cricket Ground.

Thameslink Programme for Network Rail and Govia

The Thameslink programme was a £10.4B development of the ‘Thameslink’ Brighton to Bedford national rail route in the south-east of England. Key Output Two involved the major development of Farringdon station, the redevelopment of Blackfriars and London Bridge stations, expansion of the central corridor from two-track to four-track from Farringdon to Blackfriars, rail systems renewals and major civil engineering works including installing an additional rail viaduct over Borough Market.

Crossrail Programme for Crossrail Ltd, Vinci and VolkerFitzpatrick
The Crossrail programme was a £14.9.B development running east / west across London from Abby Wood to Maidenhead providing a new high frequency rail route to the south-east of England.

Riyadh Metro System for Arup and BACS
The Riyadh Metro system in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia is a new rapid transport system comprised of 40 new state-of-the-art metro stations spread across the city. Of these, Arup has designed 13 of the new stations for the Riyadh Metro System with an estimated value of £80M.

Sizewell C Nuclear Power Station Civils WorksProgramme for BYLOR (Bouygues/ LaingORourke) Joint Venture

Sizewell C is the second of a new generation of nuclear power stations being constructed in the UK. Based on the design of Hinckley Point C, this new power station in the south-east of England is expected to power 6,000,000 homes upon completion.

Enfield EcoPark Energy from Waste Project (North London Heat and Power Project) for London Energy Ltd
The Enfield EcoPark is a waste-to-energy plant which burns waste from several London boroughs to provide electricity for the National Grid. It is located on the River Lee Navigation and bordered by the North Circular Road, in Edmonton in the London Borough of Enfield. The modernisation project for the site is valued at £1B.

Lower Thames Crossing Tender Bid for BFV Joint Venture

The Lower Thames Crossing is a proposed road crossing of the Thames estuary downstream of the Dartford Crossing that links the counties of Kent and Essex, and its proposed approaches. If built it would pass through the districts of Thurrock and Gravesham, supplementing the Dartford route.
